Basketball Recap: Dunlap's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Dunlap lost to East Peoria back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Dunlap Eagles walked away with a 59-49 win over the East Peoria Raiders. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Raiders are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was Dunlap's fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for East Peoria, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunlap has already played their next matchup (against Canton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Peoria will venture away from home to face off against Washington at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Washington will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something East Peoria surely won't give up without a fight.
