Baseball Recap: Cave City Takes a Loss

Cave City extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 14-9 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bald Knob Bulldogs. The Cavemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Bald Knob, they now have a winning record of 10-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

For Bald Knob's part, the team relied heavily on Keegan Smith, who earned one run and four stolen bases. Those four stolen bases gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Cave City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bald Knob, they will venture away from home to take on Pangburn at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
