Simsbury has gone 9-1 against Northwest Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Simsbury has 12 straight victories, Northwest Catholic has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Simsbury is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Bristol Central, who was ranked 13th at the time (Simsbury was ranked fifth). The Trojans came out on top against the Rams by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Simsbury had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic came up short against Bristol Eastern on Monday, falling 3-0.

While Northwest Catholic was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bristol Eastern's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-9, 25-21.

Simsbury's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Northwest Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything went Simsbury's way against Northwest Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Simsbury made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
