Football Recap: Santa Fe Piles Up the Points Against Lake Weir

Santa Fe never let their opponents score on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 37-0 win over the Lake Weir Hurricanes. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 29 points or more this season.

Jasiah Powell had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 144 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for two yards and one touchdown. Santa Fe is undefeated when Powell posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Santa Fe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Crevasse and Malcolm Merriex.

The victory made it two in a row for Santa Fe and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Lake Weir, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Santa Fe will square off against Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. The Tornadoes' defense has only allowed five points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Weir, they will face off against Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
