Baseball Recap: Blackhawk Wins Going Away Against Hampton

Blackhawk never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Hampton Talbots as Blackhawk made off with a 10-0 win. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Carter Davis was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Logan Elich, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Blackhawk and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Hampton, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Blackhawk will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hampton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
