Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Christian Wildcats vs. University City Lions

The Westminster Christian Wildcats will take on the University City Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Westminster Christian is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season two weeks ago. They fell 50-40 to Collinsville.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely University City's strategy against Althoff Catholic on Saturday. University City took down Althoff Catholic 54-35. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 140th in Missouri, while the Crusaders are ranked 302nd in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westminster Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for University City, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Westminster Christian barely slipped by University City when the teams last played back in December of 2016, winning 49-48. Will Westminster Christian repeat their success, or does University City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
