Basketball Game Preview: Westland Cougars vs. Centerburg Trojans

The Westland Cougars will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Centerburg Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westland, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Centerburg's (thus far) undefeated season.

Westland is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Westerville North on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Westland took a blow against Westerville North, falling 68-16. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Centerburg's strategy against Cardington-Lincoln on Friday. Centerburg put the hurt on Cardington-Lincoln with a sharp 53-33 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Westland's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Centerburg, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
