Basketball Recap: Van Wert Takes a Loss

Van Wert lost against Ottoville back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Van Wert Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Ottoville Big Green. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Van Wert's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ottoville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Van Wert will face off against Elida at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elida will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Van Wert surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ottoville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Minster at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
