Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Union Pines walked away with it. They never let the Swansboro Pirates get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Thursday. Union Pines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by three goals or more this season.

They hit Swansboro with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kylie DiMayo (2), Taryn Pekala (2), and Brooke Going.

The win was the 12th in a row for Union Pines, bringing their record up to 19-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 74 goals over those 12 contests. As for Swansboro, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4-8.

Coming up, Union Pines will face off against Carrboro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Union Pines will need to watch out since Carrboro have now posted at least four goals in their last 15 matches. Swansboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
