Football Recap: Gahr Comes Up Short on the Road Against Valley Christian

Gahr had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of the Valley Christian Defenders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gladiators of the 49-23 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Roman Acosta threw for 93 yards on 14 of 24 attempts. Bryant Riley was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards.

Graham Lunzer had an outrageously good game for Valley Christian as he threw for 173 yards and three TDs on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one score. Byron Louis was another key player, picking up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gahr will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cerritos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley Christian, they will face off against Calvary Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
