Westerville North kept a clean sheet against Hayes on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Pacers 1-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Westerville North's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Hayes are ranked 313th).

Westerville North's one-goal win came courtesy of Antoniyos Zerom, which was the first he's scored this season.

Westerville North pushed their record up to 5-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Hayes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-5-1.

Looking ahead, Westerville North will head out on the road to challenge Newark at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Westerville North will be up against Newark's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.33 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
