Baseball Recap: Damien Takes a Loss

Damien suffered their biggest loss since April 2, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 16-2 to the Santa Margarita Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Damien got a good showing from Andrew Angell, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Damien saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Boyle, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That hit marked the first that Boyle got this season.

Damien's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Santa Margarita, their record is now 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Damien will face off against Charter Oak at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Margarita, they will square off against Los Osos at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Santa Margarita has won six straight at home dating back to last season, while Los Osos won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
