Baseball Recap: Windsor Extends Road Winning Streak to Nine

Windsor won against Severance last Tuesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Windsor Wizards walked away with a 13-9 win over the Roosevelt Roughriders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wizards.

Wyatt Gustafson looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Windsor got a massive performance out of Grant Kerber, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Kerber has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethan Fillinger, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Windsor pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor will welcome Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greeley Central at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th.
