Baseball Game Preview: Great Mills Hornets vs. Patuxent Panthers

Great Mills hasn't had much luck against Patuxent recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Patuxent took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Great Mills, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Great Mills turned things around against St. Charles on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over St. Charles. The Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brock Midkiff looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Wes Boyers was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Patuxent's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Chopticon by a score of 4-3.

Patuxent's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Great Mills, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.
