Soccer Game Preview: Katy Taylor vs. Tompkins

Katy Taylor and Tompkins are an even 4-4-2 against one another since February of 2020, but likely not for long. The Katy Taylor Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Tompkins Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Katy Taylor's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Katy Taylor sidestepped Paetow for a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile, Tompkins' and Katy's game on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Tompkins turned on the heat in the second half with five goals. Tompkins blew past Katy 6-1. That five goal margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

They hit Katy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Eloy Ferrer (4), Andrew Boddington, and Alex Knight.

Katy Taylor's victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2. As for Tompkins, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-4-2.

Katy Taylor was able to grind out a solid victory over Tompkins in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Katy Taylor repeat their success, or does Tompkins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
