Softball Recap: Ringgold Gets the Win

Ringgold took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Haynesville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Redskins had just enough and edged out the Golden Tornado 12-11.

Ringgold let Jayla Joyner and Jolynn Hall run wild. Joyner went 3-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Hall went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nixie Bolyer, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ringgold always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ringgold's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Haynesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Ringgold will be playing in front of their home fans against Jonesboro-Hodge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.43 runs per game on average), something the Redskins will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Haynesville, they will challenge Union Parish at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
