Mount Union won the last time they faced Tussey Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans walked away with an 8-3 win over the Titans. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly five runs.

Julian Weirich was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Nasir Collins, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Mount Union is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Tussey Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Union will challenge Mifflin County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 3.6, the Huskies 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Tussey Mountain, they will square off against Northern Bedford County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
