Soccer Recap: Avery County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Avery County was not quite West Wilkes's equal in the second half on Thursday. They lost 4-1 to the Blackhawks. Avery County were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Wilkes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Avery County's goal came courtesy of Aiden Hart, which was the first he's scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Avery County and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for West Wilkes, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Avery County will square off against East Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Wilkes will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' game: after the Vikings face off against the Cardinals, they'll take on West Wilkes again at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
