Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chase

Chase had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Hendersonville Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-8 last Tuesday.

A'Mya Phillips and Montana Honeycutt did most of the damage at the plate: Phillips scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Honeycutt scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Phillips posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baylee Walker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Chase always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hendersonville only posted an OBP of .158.

Chase's record is now 5-2. As for Hendersonville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-3.

Chase wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-2 defeat against Burns on the 17th. As for Hendersonville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Erwin on the 19th.
