Football Recap: Booneville Comes Up Short on the Road Against Poteau

Booneville kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 28-0 defeat at the hands of the Poteau Pirates. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Spencer Perry had a dynamite game For Poteau., rushing for 187 yards while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Sam Tecla helped out on the ground, rushing for 95 yards.

Booneville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-27 defeat against Ozark on the 5th. As for Poteau, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-14 victory against McAlester on the 5th.
