Breese Central is 9-1 against Freeburg since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Cougars will face off against the Midgets at 2:00 p.m. Breese Central will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Breese Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Columbia 48-15. Considering the Cougars have won eight matchups by more than 32 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Cole Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 139 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries, while also catching one score. Those 139 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Kameron Biggs was another major influence, as he rushed for 75 yards and ran in a TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Breese Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 277 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Breese Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out Xavier Voegele nine times. Clayton Jansen refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Columbia's side was Jansen, who picked up three sacks and made five total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Freeburg earned a 46-36 victory over Highland on Saturday.
Freeburg found their leader in sophomore Joseph Carmack, who rushed for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 200 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Carmack really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run. Cooper Kisgen was in the mix too, providing Freeburg with two scores.
Freeburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brady Kerr, Will Gebke, Kisgen, and Ryan Garland picked up one apiece.
Breese Central's record now sits at 9-1. As for Freeburg, their record is now an identical 9-1.
Saturday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Davis and Kisgen. Davis just won't slow down this season and has run in 18 touchdowns while averaging 93.1 rushing yards per game. Kisgen has been a dominant force too and has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 93.5 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Breese Central against Freeburg when the teams last played back in September, as the squad secured a 49-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
