Basketball Recap: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Timpson Bears
Elysian Fields was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Timpson Bears 64-12. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-15 back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Johnson, who went 6 for 8 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maliah Norris, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards.
Elysian Fields' defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Timpson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-13 record this season.
Elysian Fields will venture away from home to challenge Tenaha at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tenaha will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Elysian Fields surely won't give up without a fight. As for Timpson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beckville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpson has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three games.
