            Baseball Recap: Hahnville Tigers vs. Vandebilt Catholic Terriers        
        
		
        
        
            After losing to Vandebilt Catholic the last time they met, Hahnville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hahnville came out on top against Vandebilt Catholic by a score of  8-3  on Saturday. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Tigers.
Hahnville got a great performance from  Ja'Vonte Gray as he  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Gray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Koa Romero, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Hahnville's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Brayden Fontenot, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.

Hahnville's win was  their seventh straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-10. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Vandebilt Catholic,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at eight games  and leaves them with a 16-5 record.
 Hahnville and Vandebilt Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Hahnville will  challenge  Bourgeois  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday up  142 places (73 vs. 215). Meanwhile,  Vandebilt Catholic (ranked 23rd) will meet South Lafourche (ranked 134th)  on Tuesday.
