Baseball Recap: Shenandoah Comes Up Short

Shenandoah extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-7 in the process. They fell 6-3 to the Lewis Central Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

As for Lewis Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.

For Lewis Central's part, they gave Ayden Buckles the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Buckles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lewis Central beat Shenandoah by a score of 6-0 later that day.
