Soccer Game Preview: Columbus vs. Spencer

The Columbus Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Spencer Greenwave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

Columbus' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Kendrick. Considering Columbus have won seven games by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Spencer fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Carver last Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3. Spencer fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Carver since last Wednesday.

Columbus' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. As for Spencer, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went Columbus' way against Spencer in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Columbus made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Greenwave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
