Baseball Recap: Kouts Mustangs & Fillies vs. Griffith Panthers

There's no place like home for Kouts, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Griffith Panthers on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kouts also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2022.

Eli Harper and Landon Garrett were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Harper pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Garrett didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. At bat, Harper scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Garrett scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jesse Overholt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

On Griffith's side, they got a good showing from Steve Mcdermott, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
