The Riverdale Ridge Ravens will face off against the Centaurus Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverdale Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Riverdale Ridge is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Prairie View just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to the Thunderhawks.

Riverdale Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Centaurus hadn't done well against Holy Family recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Tigers.

Zack Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Charlie Manning, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Zach Holshey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win got Centaurus back to even at 5-5. As for Riverdale Ridge, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Riverdale Ridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Centaurus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Riverdale Ridge beat Centaurus 6-2 when the teams last played back in June of 2021. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
