Softball Recap: Bonneville Has No Trouble Against Roy

Bonneville won the last time they faced Roy and things went their way on Friday too. The Lakers were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Royals. The game marked the Lakers' most dominant win of the season.

Bonneville got a massive performance out of Kaylee McAfee, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave McAfee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellee Summers, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bonneville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Bonneville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Roy, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonneville will square off against Clearfield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Roy, they will take on Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
