Basketball Recap: University Liggett's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

University Liggett lost against Everest Collegiate back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The University Liggett Knights fell to Everest Collegiate 58-52. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Everest Collegiate are ranked 85th).

With the loss, University Liggett broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4. As for Everest Collegiate, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

University Liggett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-71 defeat against Cardinal Mooney Catholic on the 10th. Everest Collegiate has also already played their next matchup, a 68-24 win against Bishop Foley on the 10th.
