Baseball Recap: Torrance Comes Up Short

Torrance suffered their biggest defeat since March 29, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the El Segundo Eagles, falling 13-7. The Tartars just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Torrance saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateo Rickman, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another was Hector Chavez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Torrance's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for El Segundo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season.

Torrance has already played their next contest, a 10-6 loss against Arcadia on the 7th. As for El Segundo, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North at 3:30 p.m. on the 16th.
