Softball Recap: Alcester-Hudson Cubs vs. Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies

After a string of five wins, Alcester-Hudson's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies by a score of 9-8. Emma Moller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances.

Alcester-Hudson's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
