Baseball Recap: Unionville Triumphs

While Unionville's win against Kennett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Longhorns narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Blue Demons 3-2. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Blue Demons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Andrew Palahunik looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Unionville is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gavin Griffith, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Unionville's record is now 8-9. As for Kennett, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Unionville is set to face off against their familiar foe Bayard Rustin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Kennett will take on rival Sun Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
