Soccer Game Preview: Wayne vs. Springboro

Wayne is 0-10 against Springboro since September of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Wayne has given up an average of 4.9 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wayne fell victim to Northmont and their airtight defense last Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Thunderbolts. While losing is never fun, Wayne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Northmont are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Springboro kept a clean sheet against Lakota West on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Firebirds, sneaking past 1-0. The win continues a trend for Springboro in their matchups with Lakota West: they've now won three in a row.

Springboro's one-goal win came courtesy of Ava Whitt, which was the first she's scored this season.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for Springboro, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2-1.

Wayne might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Springboro in their previous meeting on October 1st. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
