Softball Preview: Ludlow Panthers vs. Gallatin County Wildcats
The Ludlow Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Gallatin County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ludlow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Ludlow barely beat Newport the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Wildcats on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Ludlow got a massive performance out of Charlotte Burke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Burke a new career-high. Maddie Gillespie was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Ludlow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Gallatin County came up short against Trimble County on Thursday, falling 14-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gallatin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Runyon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Runyon has hit this season.
Gallatin County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Ludlow, their record is now 5-7-1.
