Recap: Shawnee Braves vs. Northeastern Jets
The Shawnee Braves can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Northeastern by a score of 45-36. Shawnee's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Northeastern lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zoe Tuttle. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Tuttle scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Phelan, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Northeastern were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Shawnee's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-7. As for Northeastern, they bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Shawnee's road trip will continue as they head out to face Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Northwestern is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Northeastern will be home for the holidays to greet Greenon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
