Recap: Wills Point Tigers vs. Ford Panthers
There's no place like home for The Wills Point Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Ford by a score of 39-29 on Friday. The victory was just what Wills Point needed coming off of a 69-7 defeat in their prior match.
When it comes to explaining why Ford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zalen Morales. Despite the final result, he rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Morales is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Coleman, who rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Wills Point's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.7 points per game. As for Ford, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Wills Point will head out on the road to face off against Caddo Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Caddo Mills' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Ford, they will be playing at home against Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
