Preview: St. Charles vs. Winfield
On Friday Winfield take on St. Charles at 7:00 PM. If the match is anything like the 43-36 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
After having lost a blowout in their matchup two weeks ago against St. Charles West, Winfield were happy to find some success last Friday. Winfield skirted past Orchard Farm 44-42. Senior Collin Sutton, who rushed for 221 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Winfield's success. In fact, with nine tackles Sutton was a force on both sides of the ball.
After a string of four wins, St. Charles's good fortune finally ran out. They suffered a grim 14-47 defeat to Lutheran. St. Charles were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-34.
Winfield's victory lifted them to 4-1 while St. Charles's loss dropped them down to 4-2. We'll find out if Winfield can add another positive mark to their record or if St. Charles can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Winfield's step.
