Basketball Recap: Wallace Wildcats vs. Southwest Roughriders
Wallace lost against Southwest back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wallace Wildcats fell to the Southwest Roughriders 68-64. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Southwest was led to victory by Deric Kelley and Houston Billeter. Kelley dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards, while Billeter went 10-for-20 on his way to 33 points and five assists. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Billeter has scored at least a third of Southwest's points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Barber, who posted 11 points and three steals.
Wallace's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Southwest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.
Coming up, Wallace will be playing in front of their home fans against Creek Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest, they will challenge Maxwell at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th.
