Basketball Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Starts Season with Victory at Home

Gardner-Edgerton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Blue Valley Tigers by a score of 57-50. For the Trailblazers, this counts as revenge for the 54-47 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Landri Schaffer was a one-woman wrecking crew for Gardner-Edgerton as she dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Beasley, who posted five points along with three steals and three blocks.

Gardner-Edgerton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Blue Valley Southwest at 5:30 p.m. on December 17th. As for Blue Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-31 defeat against Shawnee Mission South on the 9th.
