Football Recap: Hamlin Chargers vs. Britton-Hecla Braves
Hamlin took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past the Britton-Hecla Braves, posting a 52-0 victory at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Hamlin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Wadsworth led the charge by throwing for 192 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a rushing score. Wadsworth also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass which he returned for a touchdown. Evan Stormo was another key signal caller, picking up 82 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Hamlin will take on Hanson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Britton-Hecla, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Leola/Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Britton-Hecla is looking for their season?s first win.
