Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary Vikings vs. Marshall County Marshals

St. Mary is 1-7 against Marshall County since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The St. Mary Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Marshall County Marshals at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

St. Mary will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating McCracken County, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Everything went St. Mary's way against McCracken County on Tuesday as St. Mary made off with a 68-46 win.

Meanwhile, Marshall County put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against McCracken County by a score of 64-53. That's two games straight that the Marshals have won by exactly 11 points.

St. Mary's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Marshall County, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0.

St. Mary came up short against Marshall County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 63-55. Can St. Mary avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
