Football Recap: Westminster Lions vs. Brea Olinda Wildcats
After flying high against Saddleback two weeks ago, Westminster came back down to earth. The Lions took a 21-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brea Olinda Wildcats on Friday. The Lions lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-0 score last time.
Brea Olinda got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Nero out in front who picked up 134 receiving yards and one score. Nero was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavyn Nicholson, who rushed for 47 yards and one TD.
Westminster has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
