Soccer Recap: John Hay Takes a Loss

John Hay lost against Lincoln West back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. John Hay came up short against Lincoln West, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, John Hay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 426th, while Lincoln West is ranked 72nd).

John Hay has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Lincoln West, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Hay will head out to square off against Collinwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. John Hay will be up against Collinwood's rather soft defense (which has allowed 17 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lincoln West, they will venture away from home to challenge John Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln West will need to watch out since John Marshall have now posted at least four goals in their last three contests.
