Recap: Lindenhurst Bulldogs vs. Ward Melville Patriots
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Lindenhurst Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to Ward Melville 14-10. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, Lindenhurst couldn't push the score so high this time.
It was another big night for Ethan Burgos, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Lindenhurst now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Ward Melville, their win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 7-2.
Lindenhurst does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ward Melville will face off against Sachem North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Sachem North is ranked 97th, while Ward Melville is ranked 102nd).
