Volleyball Game Preview: Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets vs. Mt. Mansfield Cougars

The Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets will square off against the Mt. Mansfield Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bellows Free Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Bellows Free Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: St. Johnsbury Academy, who was ranked 13th at the time (Bellows Free Academy was ranked third). The Bobwhites/Comets put the hurt on the Hilltoppers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday.

While Bellows Free Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Mt. Mansfield hadn't done well against Champlain Valley Union recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars came out on top against the Redhawks by a score of 3-1.

Mt. Mansfield got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 32-30.

Mt. Mansfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bellows Free Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Bellows Free Academy beat Mt. Mansfield 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Bobwhites/Comets repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
