Baseball Recap: Wake Forest Takes a Loss

Wake Forest blew Broughton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Broughton got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Capitals by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Capitals since April 16, 2015.

Jackson Hardy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Wake Forest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Rogers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
