Football Recap: Timberline Wolves vs. Middleton Vikings
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Timberline had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Middleton Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Vikings on their field since September 17, 2015.
Timberline's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Brant, who rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 119 yards and one TD. Hudson Lewis was Brant's top target, picking up 53 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.
Timberline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Karl Fransen and Lewis. Fransen has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Another thorn in Middleton's side was Austin Engroff, who made 12 total tackles (2.5 for loss).
