Softball Recap: Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Custer County Cowboys on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 31-14 back in April.

Brynn Donaldson was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Riley Clampitt and Tessa Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Clampitt got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Miller got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Miller has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Halle Hunter was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Custer County, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua will welcome Sidney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Custer County has already played their next contest (against Glasgow), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
