Softball Recap: Williston Takes a Loss

Williston lost against Crystal River back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Devils lost 8-1 to the Pirates. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Williston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Cribbs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Williston's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Crystal River, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Looking ahead, Williston will venture away from home to challenge Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buccaneers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Crystal River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 1.6, the Tigers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
