Basketball Preview: Borger Bulldogs vs. West Plains Wolves
Borger is 0-3 against the Wolves since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Borger Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Plains Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Borger is out to stop a 16-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Even though Borger has not done well against the Demons recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Borger walked away with a 57-49 victory over the Demons. That eight point margin sets a new team best for Borger this season.
Borger relied on the efforts of Tahqulin Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Kaeden Jennings, who scored 27 points along with six assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jennings has scored all season. DeSean Speed was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, West Plains pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-58 bruising from Hereford. West Plains has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Borger's victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-22. As for West Plains, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9.
Borger was taken down by the Wolves 95-28 when the teams last played back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Borger was down 54-15.
